It can be fun to explore the AIP neighborhood with a golf cart.  It is a faster way to see more of the neighborhood, and there are often places to park the golf carts at various destinations in the neighborhood.

Plantation Shop at Palmetto Walk – just down the street at 4828 First Coast Highway.  These two stores have a unique selection of home decorations and antiques.  I stop every time I’m in town!

Shark Toothing

recommend to go to Fort Clinch State Park at the north end of the island – a 20 minute drive Fort Clinch State Park | Florida State Parks.  Although we have found a handful of shark teeth on our beach right here, this location doesn’t disappoint if you have the patience!

Golf Carting Extras

The Omni rents them by the hour through Amelia Wheels on the AIP property, but you can also call companies outside the Omni who will rent them with a minimum number of days.  They will pick up and drop off at the house.  These types of golf carts cannot be taken outside of the AIP neighborhood.

We have used both of these places with excellent service and products – cost was about $325 for 4 days for a 4-seater:

Kayaking Extras

Longer, more rigorous kayak tours available outside of AIP.  Recommend Kayak Amelia which has its launch is off A1A, about 10 minutes south of the AIP:  www.kayakamelia.com.  Guided tours ($70/adult) are available for a 2-hour tour, and self-guided rentals ($45-$60/person) are available.

Please note that many stores close early by 5 or 6. Second hand stores are also all over the island – too many to list and do not have a favorite.
